Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a Paralegal, you will be at the forefront of our office operations, serving as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and professional impression of our firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting clients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanour.
  • Answering incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate team members, and taking messages when necessary.
  • Managing the reception area, ensuring it is neat and welcoming.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Maintaining office supplies and inventory.
  • Providing administrative assistance as needed.
  • Assisting with data entry, document preparation, and filing.
  • Coordinating appointments and meetings.
  • Managing office calendars and schedules.
  • Handling general office correspondence and email enquiries.
  • Transcribing correspondence and documents.
  • Assisting fee earners with document preparation such as Form E and ES2.
  • Preparing court bundles.
  • Organising and maintaining legal files and documents.
  • Proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensuring exceptional client service by addressing enquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinating client meetings and appointments with fee earners.
  • Ensuring the office is well-organised and efficient.
  • Assisting with office events and meetings.
  • Billing/liaising with the accountant.

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • 2.1 classification Law Degree or GDL equivalent.
  • Preferably completed the LPC or due to complete the SQE/LPC
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in typing at speed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good team player
  • Previous experience in a legal environment or in Family Law is a plus.
